Day 5 (May 25th)

Take a break and slow down:

Check! I honestly stink at doing this. I just don't know how to slow down. There is always something to do and something that has to get done (laundry, dishes, paperwork, bills to pay, etc.) Monday I flew back from my vacation and was exhausted. Flights were delayed, my allergies are acting up, and I was just exhausted. Yesterday I decided that I was going to take it easy. I took a nap in the middle of the afternoon and then went to bed at 8pm and woke up this morning at 7:30am! I listened to my body and did what it wanted which was sleep. Normally I probably would have pushed through and kept going and fill my body with sugar to keep me going. Bad I know. I've realized that when I'm tired that's when I reach for the sugary things in the house (cookies, ice cream, etc). It's amazing though when you take the time to listen to what your body needs and do that instead of doing something else how much better you will feel. My allergies aren't so bad today and in fact I feel like rested and refreshed. I imagine this is how life should really be all the time. I'm going to try and resist the urge to eat when I'm tired and just sleep like I should from now on.
