Advice

It's amazing what you can learn from talking to someone. I just found out that the guy who does all the repairs for our house was a professional runner back in the day and was sponsored by Nike. Also got lots of great running tips and encouragment for my own journey with running. :)

Here are a few things that he said to me:

Invest in good shoes that fit you right

Do not let running turn into work for you. Do it because you enjoy it and want to do it. If you don't enjoy it try something else...biking and swimming are both great ways to exercise too.

Run early in the morning and/or later in the evening because it's cooler and you can really see the beauty around you and won't be thinking about how darn hot it is with the sun beating down on you.

Start with saying I'll run 20 mins and do that and then the next day say I'll do 25 mins etc.. He said the reason people get burned out is because they set their goals to high to start and then get upset and quit when they fail.
