This is my final check in for the 31 day challenge. I plan to continue to blog about my health goals and weight loss journey after tomorrow don't worry this is just a quick sum up of the current challenge and how I did.
The only things that I didn't complete on my list of 31 things was:
-Go to church without Todd
-Go for a morning run outside
Of 31 things I have to say that I'm very pleased with accomplishing 29 things! I very well could have accomplished the other two things if I had really tried and are things that I will still try to accomplish. No excuses. I AM GOING TO DO THEM!
I've really enjoyed this challenge mostly because it's given me something to work towards. I had been doing pretty well with my weight loss but this really kinda kicked it in the butt and got me working harder. I think I needed that. In fact I'm sure I did.
I've really learned a lot about myself including that I love setting goals for myself and that I'm not an island and do need support (even if I don't want to admit it).
I'm pretty sure I'll continue with a lot of these goals I had set for myself. Some of them almost seem like second nature and I don't even think about them anymore. I just do it. After 8pm the internet and tv go off, the meal planning is done as soon as the last meal of the week is cooked, and spending time outside just seems like the thing to do (if it's not feeling like 105 that is).
I'm also glad that my kids are young enough to see the changes that we are making for a better more healthy lifestyle and hope that these new things I'm doing carry over into their way of thinking and living as they get older. I feel good knowing that I'm leading by example and doing what I say. I know I've still got a long way to go but it's start and I'm pleased with the strides we are making as a family.
I plan to start another challenge soon. Jara is doing a birthday challenge. 30 things till your 30th birthday. Since I still have about a month before I turn 29 I may just set up a list of a few things I want to accomplish before that birthday and then get to work on the bigger birthday challenge. We shall see. I haven't decided really what I want to do. All I know is right now I feel like taking a nap and that my abs (and shoulders) are sore from my new ab toy. Happy Summer everyone!
