Break Time

So after I hurt my ankle the other day I of course didn't listen to my body and went ahead and worked out. I worked out hard too. I felt great until my ankle really started to hurt and I could feel the tendions in my leg throbbing. Yeah not such a good idea to push myself so hard. I knew I was hurting and yet I did it anyways.

I took yesterday off from working out. I read instead. I did have a movie to prep myself for. lol. I relaxed and took it easy for the most part. The odd part though for me is that my body has been screaming for more calories. It seems odd to me because I'm not working out and actually feel hungry. Day's that I work out I don't feel so hungry and have to force myself to eat all my calories for the day. I've not been fighting the hunger though. I've been eating what I want and weirdly enough I feel better than I have a few days.

Maybe just maybe hurting myself was just what I needed to remind myself to slow down. My ankle still hurts a lot and I'm pretty sure because of my over eager need to work out the other day that I will now be down and out from working out for a few more days. I am slightly bummed by this but am trying to focus on what a good thing this is. I will continue to watch my food intake, keep an eye on my emotions, and enjoy the slower pace while I heal. Next week I'll come back in full swing and maybe just a little break is what my body needs to jump start things again. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
