So yesterday I didn't eat meat at all. I'm not a big meat eater to begin with but I do have eggs and turkey bacon most mornings. Yesterday I didn't. I had oatmeal. I like oatmeal ok and I was satisifed when I got done eating. I did notice though without my normal high protein breakfast though that I was left eating a lot of carb heavy things to get me through the day. I did have protein later in the day by having some garbanzo beans and that helped settle my system. Maybe because I don't do the no meat thing all the time it was hard for me to adjust to this none at all attitude. For me though I feel like getting my eggs and bacon in the morning sets me off on a better day. I tend to eat the bulk of my calories in the morning, have a small lunch, and a smaller dinner with a snack or two in the mix. This works for me and I feel good. Yesterday though the bulk of the calories came at the end of the night and I was left feeling bleh.
For those of you that don't do eggs and bacon what do you eat to help you get your jump on the day? What is your biggest meal? Where do you get the bulk of your protein?
Well I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian most of the time, but I've begun eating some seafood. But my mornings start with my shakeology smoothie - it has 48.6% protein, and then I usually mix it with almond or soy milk and sometimes a tablespoon of natural peanut butter. (I'm waiting to get my single servings in the mail and i'll send you a sample) I'm pretty good for at least three hours. If I don't have that, I will have oatmeal...and some plain yogurt. Eggs are good! I love them and ate them being an ovo-lacto.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest meal is sometimes lunch. I also eat snacks throughout the day. Hmm and bulk of my protein. I have protein at each meal. And if I don't get enough, i'm finding it in a snack. I'm a protein girl so I'm finding it e'rywhere I can and in each meal. Does that help at all?
