This is one of my things to do on my list. Write a list of things that I like about me. I decided to do this since I tend to look in the mirror and think negative thoughts about myself and I want to change that for myself and for the talk that my daughter will hear from my mouth. I know that if I speak postive things then Sophia will see that and mirror that too. I don't want my little girl growing up saying that she doesn't like her stomach because mommy doesn't like hers and since they are the same then it must be bad.
Ok so actually doing the list though was harder than coming up with things I don't like. Guess this exercise is a good one for me.
So without further explanation these are my physical traits that I do like.
1. My strong legs--the calf muscle and even my thighs.
2. The shape of my eyes
3. My long fingers
4. My wide fingernail and toenail beds. Every time I've had them done the manicurist or whatever goes on and on about how easy it is to paint them and how nice they are.
5. My shoulders
6. My pale skin and all my freckles
It's not a long list but it's a start. I plan on using this list to remind myself when I start to say "I wish my stomach would be just a little bit flatter" that instead I should say "I have strong legs and beautiful calf muscles".
This is beautiful. We are so good at telling us negative things....so it's good to remind ourselves that we are beautiful! And deserve positive affirmations!
