Well....nada. I didn't get my letters written, I didn't get to the Farmer's Market, and I didn't get to church. Yeah doing really good on those goals huh?
As I see it sometimes things just don't work out the way that you want and you have to just roll with it. I had high hopes but my kids had plans of their own and well they won.
What I did do though was after a very frustrating day with the kids on Saturday was read. Yes I picked up one of the many books I had sitting around waiting to be read and read the whole thing in 6 hours. The book was fluff but it was nice to sit and read and relax. Put my feet up and just chill.
Sunday morning came around and church just didn't happen. I wanted to. I got up early I got things started for us and then nada. Guess it worked out since the kids needed to nap and I had lots of stuff to do for my kiddos joint birthday party. While they napped though (since I didn't work out on Saturday) I jumped on my elliptical and just went until I was tired. 6 miles and 78.19 mins later I was exhausted but feeling good. I never just cover up the screen to the elliptical but I did yesterday. I guess I just needed to get moving and wanted to see what would happen. Honestly I suprised myself with how much I did.
After that Todd (who came home early from work to help with the party) and I started prepping food and the kids for the fun to be had. We had a wonderful time hanging out with family and enjoying our yummy food. Grilled Aspargus and corn, turkey hot dogs, whole wheat buns, punch (made with low cal no sugar cranberry juice, diet sprite, and sherbert), canteloupe, cucumber slices, and mac & cheese (it was my kids party and they love mac & cheese) and of course Cake. It was so good. I didn't even bother to write down what I was eating. I ate what I wanted and didn't freak about it and the calories or whatever that was in everything. I ate in moderation and ate until I was satisfied (even having 2 tiny pieces of cake) and loved it all. Yum!
So I didn't do the things on my to do list for the weekend but I did instead do some working out which I hadn't planned on doing, ate some yummy food, and spent time with my family. All in all I would call it a win. I do plan on getting some stuff done this week though and am looking forward to finally getting some of these tougher things done for myself.
