Today was my 14th day with P90X. It was a rest day or a stretch day. I in fact made it my first day of running. Woohoo! For my first run I did 1.77 miles in 27:16 which if I say so isn't half bad for my first attempt.
Things I learned on my run:
I need shorter shorts to run in I kept hiking my shorts up to keep them from falling down. lol
My ear buds for my Ipod do not want to stay in my ears.
How do you run with a phone on you? Todd wanted me to take it for safety reasons since I was running at night by myself. I had to hold it the whole time and it got major sweaty which I'm sure isn't good for it.
Need to get some reflector type things for my clothes so cars see me on these dark roads for when I run at night.
I don't have my stride yet. I kept worrying I was going to fall or trip over my feet since I couldn't see very well out there.
I actually ran. Woohoo!
Tips or anything you have to share on this subject would be great. Oh and do you run everyday or everyt other day etc...What works for you?
1. I run in biker shorts that are capri length...I have to so I don't worry about my shorts running up on me either!
ReplyDelete2. Ear buds. I always use these headphones I got at Walgreens...they're like $12, they scoop around my ear. Hard to explain.
3. I would run with my phone in one of Nike's cellphone cases, I got mine for $10. I like to have my phone with me, too.
4. Do you have a TJ Maxx/Marshalls, you could see what workout clothes they have for the cheap cheap!
I run in shorts that I got from Wal-Mart. I never thought that I'd be one of THOSE people who run in shorts, but that's what I like now!
ReplyDeleteI have headphones that I think are what Jara is describing - I tried to think of what they are called and the best I've found on Google is "clip on earphones"... check them out.
I run every other day for the most part. Especially now that I'm doing 7-9 mile runs... I have to let those muscles rest.
