Today I was going to do day 17 and 18 of P90x. Instead I did 30 mins on the ellipticial, had lunch at panera with my husband, went deal hunting at some goodwills, and then had some yummy papa murphy's pizza with the kids after picking them up from the inlaws house.
I'm tired and feeling oh so relaxed right now. It really was wonderful to get to spend some time with the husband sans kiddos for a little bit. He had to work tonight after our little outing which makes me sad since we were having such a nice time, but money has to be made because there are bills to be paid.
Just a few thoughts on my mind today:
-My heart rate monitor said I burned 602 calories on the elliptical this morning. The elliptical counter said I did 301. hmm.... I think I'm going to start taking all my numbers my heart rate monitor gives me and cut them in half.
-I cleaned out my closet today (had to pull out all the clothes that were just to baggy to get away with wearing anymore) and I counted that I have 15 dresses in there! 15! I have 6 pairs of pants that fit. I have 15 dresses! OMG! For those that know me this is huge. I have never owned that many dresses ever. I'm finding that since I'm feeling better about myself that I'm actually wearing more dresses on a regular basis and that I'm even looking for them instead of pants when I hit the goodwills like I use to. Though I really should look for some pants because winter might be cold if I'm in a dress all the time unless I wear workout pants out.
-Speaking of workout clothes I think it's safe to say I'm officially addicted to wearing my workout clothes all the time. If I'm not in a dress it seems I'm wearing some form of workout gear. lol. My closet has changed drastically.
-Sizes: I found that a size 10 Land's End dress fit perfectly, a size 10 pair of Style Co. pants fit, but at the same time I wear a size 12 jean from old navy, a 14 from Vera Wang jeans, and my shirts range anywhere from and XL to a M. Several of my dresses range from a 12 to a 16 as well. Just goes to show that unless you buy all your clothes from the same store there may never be a single size that you can define yourself by. Heck I tried on a size 4 dress today from Jones Wear and it fit (didn't get it because it was UGLY). The thing is it's really crazy for us to define ourselves by the numbers on the tags of our clothes. I'm convienced more than ever that I'm in this to be the healthiest me I can be and that it's not about numbers. I will not let the number on the tags define me. I am healthy and strong and that is what matters.
i would think that the HRM would be a touch more accurate than the elliptical but i could be wrong. i know when i've been on the bike for two minutes, it tells me my heart rate is 200 (not possible).
