I did 2.21 miles today in 30 mins. I even walked some of that because my knees are hurting so bad. I don't know what it is but my last few runs my knees have really hurt afterwards. Maybe it's my hip problem putting extra pressure on my knees. I dunno though.
It felt good to get outside and run today though. It was beautiful out. In fact I had planned on running earlier but it was too cool for me. Gotta buy a light weight jacket or long sleeve shirt to run in. Anyone have anything that they love love love that I should look at for that need?
Today was the first day I ran in some of those capri style workout pants. I got them at old navy and almost took them back but decided to keep them. I loved it. For once I did not feel like I was struggling to keep my shorts from riding up. I might just have to get another pair of them.
Need to work up to 3.10 for the 5k in October. Feeling a little like that might be impossible when I want to cry because my knees hurt so bad. I've been icing them and prop them up after my run to help with the pain. Also taking Aleve too to help. Anyone else have these kinds of issues? I talked to one guy I know about it and he said he struggles with this too but that I just have to push through the pain and that my body isn't use to the impact from running outside (since most of my running before had been elliptical) and that he uses ice after his runs and takes alleve to help before hand.
Oh....Todd and I did come to a big decision yesterday. Wont be posting about what that is until after the new year but we did make a decision and I couldn't be more excited about it. :)
After the new year?! That's too long to keep us in suspense! I wanted to tell you that when I started running, my knees hurt every single time. But then after about a month, they got used to the impact and didn't hurt at all anymore. I think you're doing the right thing.
