Ok so the picture above shows you where I hurt. That whole muscle group between the shoulder blades on the back and up the neck is where it's at.
So apparently I hurt myself pretty good. Called the Doctor and told him about how I was feeling where I hurt and etc and he said that I had a muscle strain and that I have to stop working out for at least 24-48 hours. Stink! Basically he thinks I worked them too hard during my workouts and that I've exhausted them to the point of strain.
Nice huh? Yeah it hurts to lift my arm, sleep, and basically anything that requires me to use my arms, backs, shoulders, etc. Thank you P90X for my pain.
Actually it's not p90X fault for this. It's my own. I'm an all or nothing kind of person. I see Tony working hard and I do it too. I know that he's been doing this stuff forever and yet I'm trying to keep up with him and all the other amazingly fit people on the videos. I have to learn to slow down and that I am not as fit as they are. I have to find my own speed and avoid getting hurt.
In a couple of days when I can return to it I'll find my speed and go with that. Do what I can and forget the rest and later when I do the series again I can do more.
For now I'm having a mandatory down time with lots of ice, rest (well as much rest as you can get while you're in pain), and slow simple stretches. I also have a muscle relaxer to help me rest but it's just making me feel foggy and not actually doing anything to make me feel better. Anyways say a little prayer for me. I'm really not comfortable but I am trying to remain positive about this and think about what a blessing it is that I'm learning more about my body and what it can and can't handle.
